4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27:
Out of an abundance of caution due to residual icy conditions on campus and surrounding areas, 91²Ö¿â will remain closed one more day — Wednesday, Jan. 28. All classes are cancelled.
Closure affects:
- Main campus, Longview University Center, Palestine Campus, Health Science Center non-essential academic employees
- All University Academy campuses
- Muntz Library and Campus Store
The Met, Swoop N’ Go and Subway will continue to serve main campus residential students. The student health clinic will be open regular hours.
91²Ö¿â faculty and staff who are not considered essential employees and Health Science Center non-essential academic employees should continue remote work operations as they are able. Essential campus services include University Police, Dining Services, Facilities Management and University Housing.
Clinical employees will continue to follow UT Health East Texas clinical operations. Houston Engineering Center will follow Houston City College operations.
Barring any unforeseen developments, plans are to resume normal operations Thursday, Jan. 29. Please continue to monitor the university website and social media channels.

Due to road conditions that are not expected to significantly improve, 91²Ö¿â will remain closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

- All University Academy campuses
- Muntz Library and campus bookstore
- Student Health Clinic (closed pending further update)
All classes, including online, are cancelled.
Students:
Residence Life and Student Engagement will continue to provide support for main campus residential students. The Met will offer brunch and dinner service, and Swoop N’ Go and Subway will be open. Residence Life will have canned goods and pre-packaged foods available at the residential clubhouses. Please contact Resident or Housing Assistants with questions.
Employees:

Due to current road conditions, 91²Ö¿â will be closed Monday, Jan. 26, to help ensure the safety of our students and employees. The closure will affect the main campus, Longview University Center, Palestine Campus, Health Science Center non-essential academic employees and all University Academy campuses. All classes, including online, are cancelled.
The Muntz Library, campus bookstore and student health clinic are also closed.
91²Ö¿â faculty and staff who are not considered essential employees should shift to remote work operations as they are able. Health Science Center non-essential academic employees are also asked to work remotely.

University officials continue to monitor the weather development this weekend and are preparing to communicate any operational updates regarding Monday, Jan. 26, no later than 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.
Operational updates will include the main campus, Longview University Center, Palestine Campus and the Health Science Center non-essential academic employees, as well as all University Academy campuses. Essential campus services include University Police, Dining Services, Facilities Management and University Housing.
Clinical staff are to follow guidelines from UT Health East Texas. Houston Engineering Center will follow the Houston City College operations.
Students:
- Residence Life and Student Engagement will continue to provide support for residential students. Please contact Resident Assistants with questions.
- Food service will be operating this weekend for residential students. Grab-and-go snack bags are available in residential clubhouses.
- The Patriot Pantry is available today for all students to get snacks for the weekend.
- The Muntz Library and the bookstore will close at 5 p.m. today. Both will be closed this weekend and will follow university operations regarding business hours next week.
Dining Services Weekend Hours:
- The Met: 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 - 7 p.m.
- Swoop N’ Go: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Starbucks will be closed Saturday and Sunday.
Employees
- Please be prepared to shift to remote work, if you are able, in case the university is closed Monday.
Rescheduled events:
- School of Nursing Gala — Rescheduled for Friday, Jan. 30
- Men’s and women’s basketball games — Rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 9
